Product details
Hyperactive, inattentive, and impulsive behaviors, as well as oppositional and rule-breaking behaviors, can pose a significant burden for affected children and their families. This self-help workbook therefore supports parents in dealing with behavioral problems in everyday life and presents concrete, actionable solutions.
Parents of school-aged children between 6 and 12 years old receive numerous specific recommendations in addition to information about the disorder profile of ADHD. Topics discussed include:
• fostering a positive parent-child relationship,
• managing family rules,
• effectively communicating requests,
• using positive and negative consequences,
• and establishing reward plans.
Illustrative examples, worksheets, and protocols help to transfer the recommendations to personal problem situations and implement them in daily life. Integrated questions and space for personal notes further encourage the development of individual ideas and solutions.
The workbook can be independently used by parents as a pure self-help measure. Of course, it can also be used in conjunction with professional measures, such as guidance from psychotherapists, occupational therapists, or doctors.
All content and materials in the workbook have already been successfully applied in several research projects, supplemented by telephone counseling. The materials printed in the book can be additionally downloaded after registration.
