Masswerk Architekten

Benedikt Rigling, René Bosshard, and Matthias Baumann are the founders of the Masswerk Architekten office, which has been based in Lucerne since 2003 and in Zurich since 2008. Since then, alongside residential buildings, a number of public buildings have been created – particularly school buildings, senior centers, and workshops – characterized by a wide architectural repertoire and careful design work. Two residential buildings in the middle of a city park in Lucerne appear sculptural in their reduced volumes, with floor plans that are intelligently and seamlessly integrated into the structures. The urbanistically significant development Baufeld G on Europaallee in Zurich blends unobtrusively into the cityscape with its rhythmically designed facades. The secondary school center Burghalde, completed in 2021 in Baden, provides space for 1,000 students within a historic park area with protected building substance.
