Marvellas ganze Freude

A newly discovered children's tale by the great storyteller Siegfried Lenz Marvella loves to eat tender grass, drink cool water from her brook and rest in the shade of the elm tree that stands in the large pasture that is all hers. She is a happy, good-natured Swiss cow - and the only cow that is friends with a freight train, maybe even a little in love with it. Every morning and every evening he drives past her meadow, and Marvella responds cheerfully mooing to the whistle with which the green-silver locomotive announces itself. But after a stormy night she waits in vain. Driven by longing, Marvella summons up all her courage and sets off in search of her train. And she arrives just in time to prevent a great misfortune.
