Marugoto: Japanese Language and Culture, published by Sanshusha Publishing in Tokyo, is a textbook based on the JF Standard for Japanese Language Education that imparts both language skills and knowledge about the culture. The distribution in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland is handled by Helmut Buske Verlag.

Learning Objectives: Communicative competence in everyday situations, such as discussing family, work, and home; active language use; the ability to read, write, and translate texts of general content; solid grammar knowledge; level A2 of the European Framework of Reference.

Concept: Aimed at deepening particularly reading, vocabulary, and grammar skills, the coursebook 'Elementary 1 A2 Rikai' (Understanding) consists of 18 lessons that help learners expand and solidify their language skills through systematic listening, reading, writing, and group exercises. The textbook is designed primarily in Japanese script, with Kanji exercises in each lesson, and includes some exceptions in English, allowing learners to quickly acquire Japanese writing. Supplementary practice materials are available for all coursebooks, including audio files, Japanese-German vocabulary lists, and worksheets.
