"The limits of my language mean the limits of my world." What does it mean that I am a linguistic being? How do I speak about love, deep concerns, happiness, and pain? Ludwig Wittgenstein has influenced the 20th century so significantly with his important work that the understanding of language changed thereafter. Born in 1889 into a cultured family in Austria, Wittgenstein early on recognized the nuances of sensitive distinction and perception of the world. From his early work to his later reflections on language games, forms of life, rule-following, and grammar, he demonstrates our connection to the medium of language - it is not just a tool for communication, but fundamentally shapes who we are and how we perceive our surroundings. Language analysis is the central method of his philosophy. The goal is to resolve apparent philosophical problems as linguistic misunderstandings - thereby showing the fly the way out of the fly bottle.
