Product details
Friedrich Jaennicke (1831 - 1907) was a German naturalist and art writer. In the field of art history, he published numerous handbooks and historical treatises on various painting techniques and ceramics, some of which were considered standard works, appeared in many new editions, and were also translated into foreign languages. He also dealt with art theoretical questions, such as the topic of color harmonies. In the present volume, he presents the marks and monograms on faience, porcelain, stoneware, and other ceramic products up to about the end of the 19th century in 96 black-and-white plates. This is a reprint of the original edition from 1878.
