Maria Magdalena von Pazzi

The Carmel Paperbacks provide smaller contributions on the culture, history and spirituality of the Carmelite Order and individual personalities of Carmel. The first volume of the Carmel Paperbacks is dedicated to St. Mary Magdalene of Pazzi (1566-1607). It contains sketches of her life and mystical experiences (Michael Plattig) and an appreciation of her relevance in the reform process of the Church (Bruno Secondin). The special importance of the Florentine saint as a teacher of spirituality is highlighted by Pope Benedict XVI. Text samples from the works of Mary Magdalene of Pazzi give an insight into her thought, while the selected copperplate engravings with scenes from her life testify to the veneration she received soon after her death.
