Product details

MANHATTAN MEDEA lives in what is now New York: Medea and Jason live underground as illegal immigrants until Jason meets the daughter of a rich businessman. He leaves Medea and their child to marry the other. The play takes place on the wedding night. Medea waits outside the bride's house. She is determined to get Jason back. The basic motive in BLUE BEARD - WOMEN'S HOPE is that Bluebeard kills what he loves. But in Dea Loher's drama the murdered women are as much a part of her ending as the murderer himself. For they are looking for a love 'beyond measure', one they would die for. "So it is a release when they find what they are looking for in Bluebeard's death. There Dea Loher comes very close to Hell, into which perfect love leads. Loher can put such soul activity into dialogues that belong to the most pointed, which is important for the interpretation.
