Managing Diversity

The book "Managing Diversity" brings together contributions from scholars who examine the changing meanings of diversity and the associated challenges for leadership, management, and practice in higher education. It provides an empirical, scientific, and personal space to illuminate the complex and often elusive challenges that post-secondary institutions face in managing diversity. The chapters of the book present a variety of perspectives that address theoretical, conceptual, socio-historical, and globalized meanings of diversity. Additionally, narratives from higher education staff regarding social justice and equality, as well as topics of identity politics and provocative questions among students, educators, and staff, are discussed, which continue to pose significant challenges for the equality agenda in higher education. The aim is to critically assess existing efforts toward diversification and the creation of inclusive higher education contexts, present new approaches to diversity, equality, and inclusion, and identify and explain the political and practical implications.
