Product details

One should get up early again and listen to the birds singing joyfully. One should see the sun rise again and disturb the neighbor during her morning workout. One should read poems again and dream the day away.

Markus Köhler, born in 1956 in Dresden and raised in Upper Lusatia, has lived in southern Germany since 1978. He studied German literature and history in Constance, worked in various professions, and then taught at a high school, including in Prague. "One Should Get Up Early Again" is already the fourth poetry collection published by him at Engelsdorfer Verlag, Leipzig. "If Only Back Then" is the title of the first volume, which was released in 2020, followed a year later by the second volume titled "Simply Leave," and in 2023, the poetry collection "One More Mokka" was published.

Markus Köhler also writes songs, some of which originated from poems, several of which can be found in this collection, including "One Should Get Up Early Again," "I Can't Stand It," "Before You Go," and "Give Me Your Hands Once More." Many songs have been illustrated with drawings by Felix Schmitt, who also painted the cover for this poetry collection.
