This work investigates the system of two-legged spin-1/2 ladders, described by the Heisenberg model. Additionally, a relativistic correction, the Dzyaloshinsky-Moriya interaction along the rungs, is taken into account. The effect of this symmetry-breaking term is analyzed using a magnetic field. To this end, the ground state of the Hamiltonian operator is calculated through exact diagonalization. The observed linear relationship between magnetic field strength and ground state energy for the case of a magnetic field applied perpendicular to the coupling implies that the otherwise antiferromagnetic system responds to the magnetic field with a finite magnetization. This represents a fundamental difference from the isotropic spin ladder, where the magnetization vanishes for small magnetic fields.
