Product details
A classic polar film that requires the participation of several prominent actors. Social criticism is constantly audible, reflecting how the population speaks in real life. In Paris, ordinary people have found an original side hustle that is illegal: they steal whatever they can get their hands on. The family man Jean Gabin, from a village in Burgundy, has come to Paris with his wife and children, including Bardot, Cardinale, Delon, Belmondo, Ventura, and Moreau, and has built a life for his family here. The sons have since developed their own criminal lives. Once a year, the children work with their father. This time, someone has heard about a shipment that they want to intercept before it reaches Paris. Will the heist succeed? And can the family sustain themselves in the long run? It has always worked out before. So why shouldn't it continue to work? They regularly visit their home village in Burgundy, where they have their roots in the countryside and identify with the straightforward rural morality, where there is no wrongdoing. While they are criminals in Paris, in their home village, they are the embodiment of innocence. The heist is successful. Upon returning from abroad, another opportunity arises: they have discovered a way to break into a leading tire manufacturer's facility. Once everything is arranged, almost all family members participate with Jean Gabin. Then Jean Gabin learns of another heist happening almost simultaneously that overshadows everything: two containers of hard drugs from overseas are coveted by a small rival criminal who can take the goods from the drug lords. The Gabin clan can seize the goods from this rival criminal, leading to shootouts, chaos with the police, intelligence services, and the mafia, as well as a lot of confusion, where, with some luck, Jean Gabin can navigate through it with his sons.
