Product details

Information about the author Emily Brontë was born in 1818 as the daughter of a vicar and the sister of Charlotte and Anne, who were also known as writers. She was the most mysterious of the three famous siblings but had great difficulty coping with life outside the parsonage in Haworth, which she called home. After some time as a teacher at a school near Halifax, she felt drawn back to the moors and the life of a reclusive writer due to homesickness. There, she died in 1848 from tuberculosis, just a few months after her brother Branwell. Few of her manuscripts have survived, and her reputation is based on a few preserved poems and one novel, Wuthering Heights.

On a wild, snowy evening in the Yorkshire moors, a gentleman inquires about Wuthering Heights, the remote farmhouse inhabited by its mysterious landlord. He is told the tragic romance of the beautiful, strong-willed Cathy and the orphan Heathcliff, who—though desperate.
