Lübeckische Geschichte

The manual and reference work in its 4th improved and expanded edition covers the historical beginnings of Lübeck up to the present day of the modern city. Lübeck's journey through the Hanseatic and Reformation periods, the 17th century, the Age of Enlightenment, Biedermeier, and industrialization is traced to this day. Nine historians, either from academia or otherwise engaged with Lübeck's history, address both laypeople and experts with their presentations. In seven chapters and three excursions, the course of Lübeck's history is presented in detail and vividly over approximately 1,000 pages.

The excursions cover the spatial and occupational topographical development of Lübeck up to the end of the 14th century, Lübeck's coin history, and the history of private secular building in Lübeck.
