After many years in London and a painfully failed relationship, actress Sonia travels to Haifa to visit her older sister. There, she meets the charismatic Mariam, who is trying to set up a Palestinian theater production of "Hamlet" in the West Bank. After initial hesitation, Sonia agrees to take on the role of Gertrude. However, as the rehearsals progress, Sonia becomes haunted by the ghosts of a conflict that keeps her uprooted and scattered family, as well as the entire region, in turmoil. When an attack is carried out on Israeli security personnel in Jerusalem, the situation threatens to escalate for the theater group as well.
