Product details
A broad reception of the works of Luc Boltanski is evident in literary sociological contexts. This volume builds on this observation and exploratively investigates the applicability of Boltanski's studies for generating and refining literary sociological questions and analyses. The contributions first inquire, from a theoretical perspective, about the usefulness of Boltanski's works for the formation of literary sociological concepts, the development of research directions, and the contextualization of research findings. Secondly, they test, through concrete case studies, the significance of Boltanski's concepts for literary sociological work. The focal point of the volume is the question of how Boltanski's approach can contribute to what might tentatively be called neo-pragmatic literary sociology.
