Long breastfeeding

A recommendation from the WHO states: exclusively breastfeed for at least 6 months. However, it is often understood that weaning should occur by 6 months at the latest. Women who continue to breastfeed their children beyond this period face ignorance, suspicion, and judgment. As a result, many mothers only breastfeed their children secretly after the first year and rarely talk about it – even though many children seek comfort and closeness at their mother's breast during the second or third year of life and benefit from the nutrients in breast milk. This book aims to clarify essential facts about extended breastfeeding, break the taboo, relieve families, and dispel stereotypes.
