It's the logistics, stupid! In domestic industry, the end-to-end planning and control of information and goods flows is often less than glorious; idle times often account for more than 85% of the order throughput time. However, processes need to be controlled not only within the factory gates, but along the entire supply chain. In this book, the author examines the redesign of materials management processes according to logistical and economic criteria using the example of a special machine manufacturer. To this end, the potential of barcode applications and RFID is examined and a solution proposal ready for implementation, including material flow control and route optimization, is developed. It emerges how barcode-supported processes are to be designed and how the associated transactions are to be accounted for. The physical logistics processes between incoming and outgoing goods are thereby s.
