The Lionhead is a rabbit breed that has established itself among many rabbit enthusiasts for its appearance and manageable size. It has also gained followers within the ZDRK. Since 2011, the rhön-colored Lionhead has been recognized as a new breed by the ZDRK. The inclusion of additional color variations, as is already the case in the EE standard, is expected in the coming years. Therefore, it was time for a breed portrait that summarizes all the important information regarding the history, care, health, breeding, and inheritance of this charming rabbit breed, characterized by its distinctive mane. Special attention is given to inheritance as well as to the standard and the corresponding requirements.
