Robert Saudek (1880 - 1935) wrote plays, essays, epigrams, and novels. During World War I, he earned his living as a translator, and after the war, he worked in the diplomatic service of the Czech government in London. The central work presented here, "Demon Berlin," brings the Berlin of the turn of the century to life in a frightening yet fascinating way. This is a reprint of the original edition from 1910.
