Linux als Bandbreitenmanagement Lösung

This work aims to demonstrate that the results of a real bandwidth management system can be replicated using a relatively simple simulation model. If there is sufficient knowledge about the traffic in the network and rules have already been devised to control it, the tools provided by ns2 can be used to verify whether these rules actually lead to an improvement in data throughput. An advantage of this approach is that, through simulation, no interventions in the real network are necessary until the bandwidth management is implemented. Therefore, the optimization of bandwidth management in a given network is not carried out directly by modeling the entire network but rather indirectly by testing the proposed ideas in a simple model. For obvious reasons, this work thus addresses not only the research questions but also the necessary theory to establish a foundation for understanding bandwidth management.
