Linguistic criticism
German, 2016Product details
Language criticism is the linguistically grounded, both positive and negative evaluation of human language and its achievements. This introduction focuses on the system, norms, and usage of grammatical and lexical-semantic structures of the German language. The critique of the German language's performance in relation to the appropriation, perception, cognition, and representation of so-called extralinguistic reality is examined from three perspectives: From the perspective of linguistics, the linguistic expression is at the center, with its communicative function as an element of linguistic action being assessed in terms of appropriateness. From the perspective of language didactics, language criticism is viewed as a didactically grounded and methodologically modeled critical engagement with language and language use for the purpose of language learning.
