In the picture book "The Egg with a Crack," author Iris Fedrizzi tells the story of Easter bunny girl Pasqua and Easter egg Anto. Anto, the egg, realizes that he has quite a crack and is also hollow! When Anto, undeterred, rolls out of the egg carton onto the meadow full of determination, his friends are skeptical. The bunny girl Pasqua eventually finds him exhausted but happy in the meadow. She has the skilled snail Kintsugi repair the cracks. With the golden seams and green paint, she transforms Anto into the most special and beautiful egg on the Easter bush.

A story that shows why being different does not make us any less valuable. On the contrary: often it is our little mistakes and quirks that make us something truly special. Illustrator Linda Mieleck takes children aged 3 and up and their families on a journey with beautiful illustrations, reminding us that the uniqueness of every living being - and every Easter egg! - makes the world the colorful and diverse place we all love.
