Steivan Liun Könz

Steivan Könz was a gifted storyteller. Whether with pencil, pen, or brush, with needle, nail, or tube - Könz always brought stories to paper or as sgraffiti on the wall, mostly fantastic tales. He also excelled as an oral storyteller; at the tavern or kitchen table, he shared exciting and incredible stories, whether experienced, heard, or invented. He found the material for his stories in the world of his origins, the Engadin, or gathered them during travels from Romania to Ethiopia, from Italy to Pakistan. As an artist, he was a loner beyond all trends. His distinctive murals adorn bathrooms and house facades from the Engadin to the Zurich area, from Lucerne to Rosenheim, from Engelberg to Bad Tölz. His loose works hang in numerous private collections; more than two thousand originals are located in his studio in Guarda.
