Shadow Flight

In "Shadow Flight," Anna Ruchat investigates the death of her father, who died in a military plane crash when she was still a child. She approaches this from three perspectives, in a sort of triptych: first from the viewpoint of the girl she once was, then her father shares his version, and finally, the adult Sofia-Anna sets out to explore the "Hunter" crash from today's perspective. The girl lives with her mother, but there is still a significant absence. He seems to be trapped in the dry lines of a military report about the accident. From this report, her father's voice emerges, recounting how the crash occurred. Ultimately, the adult Sofia-Anna attempts to reconcile the two versions. She follows the various stages of his last flight, digs through archives, and speaks with people who knew him. She discovers a being that is human.
