Product details

A wonderfully humorous novel about two sisters and life and love in old age. From the creator of the most famous little vampire in literature, known as 'Das Vamperl'. Josefa and Karla, two sisters, both widowed, have been living together for years in their former parental apartment in Vienna. Their relationship is affectionate yet sharp-tongued - as one would expect with advancing age and differing personalities. Naturally, they occasionally get on each other's nerves, each accusing the other of being domineering and opinionated. While Karla sorts photos with her swollen legs and loves to speak in anagrams, Sefa tries to manage the household and do the shopping. Occasionally, both also visit the cemetery to tend to the graves of their parents and husbands. One day, Karla's granddaughter, who lives in America, remembers her Austrian roots.
