It's all over for the yodeling: A dead singer in the Ausseerland. A dead musician and the song of death. Everything could actually be so nice. It's Pfeifertag at the Weissenbachalm in Bad Aussee - with a goulash cannon, beer, and authentic folk music. But at Gasperlmaier's, the festive atmosphere just won't come alive. Firstly, his beloved is far, far away on a world trip, and secondly, a modern music group with amplifiers and distortion pedals is disturbing the rustic festivities: The Kainischer Hasenjäger are causing discontent among the visitors. When Gasperlmaier turns to leave, he hears a scream behind him - and one of the Hasenjäger lies dead in the moss. The Altausseer inspector encounters real pop stars during his investigations - and not only does he get weak knees from it. Where people smile brightly on stage and sway contentedly, passionate affairs, hurt feelings, bruised artist egos, and sheer greed lurk behind the scenes. A dangerous mix.

A heart investigator with heartache. With the lovable clumsiness that his fans appreciate so much, and at his own pace, Franz Gasperlmaier lets his instincts guide him. Until now, his beloved wife Christine has always had his back. Now that she has taken a sabbatical and is exploring the world, Gasperlmaier feels quite lost, and even the two cats Schnurli and Murli, who keep him company, can't help. The fact that all his friends are advising him to become a bit more independent, and that Dr. Kohlross has assigned him a babysitter, doesn't make things any better. It's almost a good thing that Franz gets thrown into the world of pop stars and schlager stars - there's certainly plenty of distraction here!

Exciting entertainment from the Ausseer Land. Authentic, rural, good: Gasperlmaier knows his homeland like the back of his hand - and Herbert Dutzler knows it just as well. The land and its people, mountains and valleys, places and streets.
