Product details
Create your own world: craft powerful new weapons, such as a fire sword, build towers and entire houses at the push of a button, and automatically respond to changes in the world. Develop new crafting recipes and your own game modes, like a snowball fight with a high score list.
Have you been playing Minecraft for a long time and think you've seen it all? Do you know about the fire sword, the Ender bow, or the game mode "Snowball Fight"? Do you want to build towers, walls, or even entire houses at the push of a button? Automatically respond to events in the game world? With your own plugins, you can discover all this and much more while also learning to program.
Python is particularly easy to learn for programming beginners. Daniel Braun will show you how to program extensions for Minecraft using Python and Bukkit or Spigot, known as plugins, which you can then try out with your friends on your own Minecraft server. No prior knowledge is required; you will learn everything from the ground up.
After programming simple chat commands, you will create cool building plugins, so that with a single command, a finished house or a sphere appears right in front of you. You will also learn how your plugins can automatically respond to events in the game world.
You can also design your own crafting recipes to create powerful new weapons, like the fire sword that sets everything it touches ablaze. In the end, you will even learn how to develop your own game modes, essentially a game within a game. Whether it's a snowball fight with a high score list or a collection contest with rewards for the winner, tons of fun is guaranteed here.
For all of this, you don't need any prior knowledge, just a passion for programming. It starts with very simple examples, but with each chapter, you will discover more ways to expand Minecraft.
