Let/'s Play

How can one portray the creativity of a country like Switzerland? How can one capture the diversity of its cultural landscape? How can the various creative currents and trends from all linguistic regions be represented in a playful way? Art director Christiane Nill asked herself these questions and devised an extraordinary game, which she implemented with photographer Lionel Henriod: Let's Play! Designers, architects, and artists are playfully encouraged to tap into their creative potential. To this end, a construction kit with wooden blocks was developed, allowing them to create small sculptures while adhering to certain rules. Subsequently, both the players and their works are portrayed. The name Let's Play serves as an invitation for players to engage with the game, while also appealing to the playful instinct of every viewer of the resulting diptych. In a time of uncertainty and crisis, focusing on play also represents an alternative approach. The game is a way to step out of our regulated daily lives and a call to the creativity within each of us.
