When it comes to reading aloud in class, Finn, Lily, and Elias are excited to participate, while Emil does everything he can to make himself invisible so he won't be called on. Ilvy and Liv are comfortable with familiar words and sentences, but they feel a lot of pressure when it comes to reading unfamiliar texts. This raises the question: How can you accommodate all these different abilities in an elementary school classroom? The author Katja Büscher faced this challenge in her own teaching. Therefore, she sought a way to motivate all children to read simultaneously. The result is these games, which the entire class can participate in, but which also work well in smaller groups. For common elementary school topics such as "Initial Sounds," "Zoo," or "Professions," there is a reading card game and a reading domino for each theme. The book is also supplemented with reading coloring pages and logic puzzles. This way, children gain confidence in their reading skills and develop their own motivation to read in a playful manner.
