Many methodological suggestions (for the use of posters in subject and German lessons, for example), communicative and creative writing options as an introduction to essay lessons, etc. All articles provide concrete help for situation- and activity-orientated teaching, which is particularly necessary for pupils with learning difficulties. The articles in this volume were well received at a congress on teaching practice in special schools, although or because the examples are not specific to special schools. Methodological suggestions are given, for example for the use of posters in subject and German lessons or for the use of overhead transparencies in first reading lessons. Communicative and creative writing options are suggested as an introduction to essay lessons. Experiences with reading and writing for practical use in the lower school for the learning disabled are reported. Finally, a field report presents the various learning opportunities for reading and writing within a project. All articles provide concrete help for situation- and activity-orientated teaching, which is particularly necessary for pupils with learning difficulties.
