Product details
I believe in the horse. The automobile is a temporary phenomenon. Fortunately, the last German Emperor, Wilhelm II, should be mistaken. For the car has provided humanity with a mobility that would have been not only unthinkable in the days of horse-drawn carriages but has also continuously improved since then. Fuel efficiency, driving comfort, and engine performance are steadily increasing, yet issues such as oil scarcity and global warming are becoming more prominent in consumers' minds. To counteract the negative effects of internal combustion engines, alternatives must be created. The first serious approach to this was the development of the EV1 by General Motors. The aim of this work is to analyze the reasons for its failure and to demonstrate why the electric car represents a solution to the aforementioned problems. It will also explore to what extent the conditions for an electric car today are better than they were over ten years ago at the introduction of the EV1.
