Leonard Cohen

He learnt to play the guitar at thirteen - because he wanted to impress a girl. At fifteen, he performed with a country band. He then began to study literature and wrote poems and novels - only to end up back in music. His grandfathers were rabbis and he regularly attended synagogue with his parents in Montreal.
