Léon und Louise

"Léon and Louise" is a romance novel by Alex Capus set in the 20th century. During the First World War, Léon and Louise met at the Saint-Luc-sur-Marne station. Léon Le Gall wants to work as a Morse assistant, while 17-year-old Louise is employed in the mayor's office and has to deliver summonses informing relatives of fallen soldiers. Léon and Louise fall in love in the novel by Alex Capus. Shortly before the end of the First World War, the couple becomes victims of one of the last attacks of the German artillery after a trip. Seriously injured, Léon is taken to hospital. Whether Louise survived, he doesn't know. Ten years later, Léon has long been married to Yvonne and is a father of four, he sees his great love Louise again in the metro. And although author Alex Capus describes how Léon is attached to Louise with every fibre of his heart, Louise would never divorce him. Yvonne arranges herself with a relationship between the three. Years later, the Second World War again separated Léon and Louise. While Louise goes to Africa, Léon has the task of rewriting badly damaged index cards in Paris during the war years. Because almost three quarters of his copies are faulty, Léon is suspected of sabotage in Alex Capus' novel.
