The book is a practical guide for all parties involved in road bridge construction: designing and contracting authorities, engineering firms, inspection engineers, and construction companies. It provides a structured overview of the complex regulations that must be considered in road planning, structural design, construction execution, maintenance, recalculation, and demolition. The constructive requirements of various regulations, such as guideline drawings, RE-ING, ZTV-ING, and general circulars ARS, are presented in an organized manner according to bridge elements. This allows for targeted reference. Particularly in road construction administration, the work can serve as a useful tool, as it is essential to integrate a bridge structure as effectively as possible into the alignment of a road or traffic route at an early stage of road planning, in order to avoid presenting the structural planners with unsolvable or costly tasks in later phases. For this second edition, the work has been fundamentally revised and updated concerning the listed and cited regulations. In doing so, the authors drew on their many years of experience in road construction administration, engineering firms, and the development of regulations.
