Lehrbuch Deutsch-Kurdisch (Zentralkurdisch/Soranî)

This textbook is aimed both at Kurdish native speakers who want to learn German and at Germans who want to learn Kurdish (Soranî). It is suitable for both beginners and advanced learners. It is possible to start at any point in the textbook, as the chapters do not build on each other. After successfully working through the individual chapters, the learner will be able to express himself in everyday situations with confidence. The textbook is divided into six sections. First, the German alphabet is introduced, and the pronunciation of German is illustrated with the Kurdish alphabet. Central is the Texts section, which covers a wide range of different thematic areas that introduce the language of everyday life. It contains 56 chapters - from Family and At the Doctor's to Politics - each of which includes dialogue, example sentences and an alphabetical dictionary. Each of these chapters forms a self-contained unit. The grammar is also very comprehensive: it introduces the parts of speech, inflections and sentence structure in German. The grammar is primarily illustrated by examples, i.e. rules are only explained where it is essential for understanding. Finally, the reading texts offer an insight into social, cultural, political and economic life in Germany. The sections Proverbs and Literature and Music round off the cultural side by introducing well-known German idioms, literary figures and composers. In addition to the modified Kurdish-Arabic script, which is introduced right at the beginning, we also offer the Latin-Kurdish script throughout, however, especially to make it easier for German learners to use our book.
