Lehrbuch der Hydrogeologie / Geohydraulik

Since the publication of the 1st and 2nd editions in 1972 and 1973, Geohydraulics has been the standard work on the hydraulics of underground water in the German-speaking world. However, the 3rd edition has been completely revised to bring the book up to date by integrating new and established knowledge. Compared to previous editions, there are significant new emphases. The classification in the series "Textbook of Hydrogeology" allowed for the omission of the introductory chapters from the 1st and 2nd editions by referencing the already available volumes of the textbook. Additionally, the comprehensive chapter on modeling techniques for underground flow problems has been significantly shortened due to its changing relevance. In contrast, much greater emphasis is placed on the questions of mathematical modeling. In particular, the hydraulics of immiscible fluids in the subsurface, as well as hybrid analytical-numerical and digital solution methods for geohydraulic problems and the solution of inverse problems, are adequately represented in the now available 3rd edition.
