In particular, the classical water vapor diffusion, including the conditions for condensation, as well as the transport of liquid water in unsaturated pore spaces are treated in detail. The further transport mechanisms are described briefly, but as far as their understanding is necessary. Then the glazier process is described with regard to its practical implementation, its climatic boundary conditions and its application limits and explained by means of examples. Then the newer, non-stationary calculation methods for the moisture distribution in layered building materials are discussed. After an excursus on the field of diffusion, which is mainly applied to organic polymers and less to porous mineral building materials, a final, relatively detailed section is given.
