Product details
Children are born in a small village, attend the first grade together, and learn and develop in their own ways. Their life paths are shaped by their own decisions, but also by societal conditions and the fate of their homeland. Nothing special—if it weren't for the fact that all these life paths have been documented with a camera, resulting in a film document of timeless quality. Since 1961, Winfried and Barbara Junge have been following the life paths of the children in a school class in the Oderbruch region. The Golzow Project is considered one of the 100 most important films in 100 years of film history. The chronicle of the children of Golzow tells the stories of people born in the years 1953-1955, who grew up in the GDR and are now citizens of the Federal Republic of Germany in the middle of their lives. Their stories and the images associated with them.
