FOREWORD Never in the history of humanity has it been more important than today to embark on the journey into the heart and to understand it. The shift from the heart to the brain that occurred thousands of years ago has come at a great cost to us. Learning to refocus on the heart is not only a spiritual matter but, given the circumstances, may even be crucial if we want to continue our lives on this planet. Although living from the heart was our natural state of being long ago, this way of life was lost due to the uncertainties associated with the ego. We have forgotten what it means to be free - to fly. From the Sumerians to the Tibetans, from Indian saints to the holy fathers and mothers of Egypt, there have been generations of people who dedicated their lives to the practice of the heart.
