Learning is different

For Remo H. Largo, learning at school is a dead end: "More and more material is being stuffed into the students' heads in ever shorter periods of time. The central question of a pedagogy suitable for children remains unresolved: How does the individual child learn? Building on his decades of research, Largo pleads for a mindful and trusting approach to children, because: Learning is different.
Children do not develop according to norms, tables and class levels: Every child is unique. Largo demands an education at home and at school that develops the skills and abilities of each child as comprehensively as possible. This requires time, serenity, confidence and self-confidence in everyone who raises a child. Only such an education makes children really fit for the demands of the future, because they have retained their natural willingness to learn and have learned to act in a self-determined way.
Remo H. Largo's findings, which are oriented towards the far-reaching social changes, cannot remain without consequences for the education system: The school has to orient itself with all consistency to the individual child. And parents should not be misled, but vehemently demand a school that is suitable for children
