Le Monde d'Aïcha

Aïcha has seen it all. Arriving in France after being adopted as an infant, she grew up in difficult circumstances. She now lives in Majorca and has embarked on the adventure of painting with conviction, logic, and immediacy. Her paintings are raw; they are characterized by a profound authenticity that invites you to immerse yourself in them. It is the grandeur of nature that the characters appear in her most recent large-format paintings. They explore the dimensions of dialogue from equal to equal. Aïcha paints her story from the depths of herself. In her imaginary world, she revisits her childhood and youth, arranges everyday events, and orchestrates little stories. Yet, one always perceives a menacing backdrop, a somber ambiance. The construction of the paintings seems classic, and the interaction of the objects appears to be created with perfect mastery of form; the motifs are communicated directly to the observer. Aïcha could be an exceptional representative of brutal art, but she paints here and now; the violence of her imaginary language deserves no other qualification than that of sensuality.
