Product details
For her equally poetic and engaged text 'Laubwerk', Marion Poschmann receives the WORTMELDUNGEN Literature Prize from the Crespo Foundation, endowed with 35,000 euros. In the jury's statement regarding Poschmann's text, it is noted: 'Her poetic reflection on our intense coexistence with trees, our relationship with autumn leaves and city trees makes visible an aspect of reality that is rarely acknowledged in everyday life. In doing so, she contributes to a different perception of the coexistence of humans, animals, and plants and outlines a literary vision for a climate-just future. The intercultural perspective, as well as the form, play a central role here, as Marion Poschmann weaves the history and politics of trees into a polyphonic assemblage.' The volume includes, in addition to the essay, a conversation with Marion Poschmann, a foreword by Sandra Poppe and Christiane Riedel, as well as the laudation for the award winner by Christine Lötscher. Marion Poschmann (*1969 in Essen) studied German studies, philosophy, and Slavic studies and lives in Berlin. She has received numerous awards for poetry and prose, most recently the Bremen Literature Prize in 2021 for her poetry collection 'Nimbus'. In 2019, she delivered the Zurich Poetics Lectures, and in 2020, she held the Kiel Liliencron Poetics Professorship. Her novel 'Die Kieferninseln' was shortlisted for the German Book Prize in 2017 and for the Man Booker International Prize in 2019.
