Helping heroes

The foundations of our world order show visible cracks. One might think that there has never been so much crisis as today - and more and more people are fleeing from war, terror, climate change, hunger, poverty, and epidemics. "Where there is danger, the saving power also grows" (Hölderlin) - foremost in the form of organized disaster relief. This book is dedicated to the many professional and volunteer "heroes of helping" in German disaster relief organizations, who live and exemplify humanity day by day and worldwide. Here, they have the opportunity to introduce themselves and their work. In addition, high-ranking representatives from science, politics, the church, and society contribute analyses and concepts for crisis prevention and disaster relief.
