Latex Biofuel

The book "Latex Biofuel" offers a comprehensive interdisciplinary study on the use of latex-producing plants, particularly E. antiquorum, as a raw material for the production of liquid biofuels. It demonstrates that these plants have great potential for the second generation of biofuels due to their availability and ability to grow on marginal soils with high water use efficiency. The study addresses the extraction of biofuels from dried phylloclade biomass and examines the performance of biofuels compared to conventional diesel. Additionally, it discusses the antibacterial properties of flavonoids from pure latex and the conversion of biomass into ethanol through enzymatic hydrolysis.
