This motivating introduction to Latin epigraphy combines fun with utility: an exciting treasure hunt through Rome that leads to a deeper understanding of Latin inscriptions! The first part of the book introduces Latin epigraphy through selected inscriptions around the Capitol. Presented in the form of a travel report by a youth group, various inscriptions in Rome are showcased, providing opportunities to review cultural and grammatical knowledge from Latin classes. Fundamental elements of Latin inscriptions are discussed, as well as the significance of inscriptions as reflections of state and society. The second part is designed for deeper exploration: an exciting treasure hunt through Rome, where the correct deciphering of the inscriptions leads to the next destination. The book can be used both as preparation for a trip to Rome and for Latin classes in school. Each inscription is accompanied by numerous tasks, the solutions of which are available digitally, as well as topics for writing reports.
