Lasst uns gehen in Frieden

Father Josef Schulte was a priest at St Ludwig's in Berlin-Wilmersdorf for many years. His sermons were known far beyond the capital's St Ludwig parish. He gave them for many years at the mass for the sleepy ones, on Sundays at 12 noon. He did not need more than a few key words or quotes as a written template; he gave the sermons freely, spoke calmly, convincingly, directly and addressed everyone, thus giving the listeners inspiration, hope, courage and confidence for their lives and their faith. He showed ways to accept the contradictions and difficulties of our time and to face them with courage and sincerity. He conveyed credibility, coupled with great love and tolerance. A selection of his sermons from the years 2017 to 2022 has now been published in this book. At the end of each mass, he dismissed his fellow celebrants with the words: Let us go in peace.
