Inspired by Lewis Carroll's magnificent nonsense poem 'Jabberwocky', the Taruppel and Funanuckel invite playful children, teenagers, and adults to fill the unknown words of the story with meaning and life. Some words may be translated similarly, while others are completely open to interpretation. The blank spaces in the book are meant to be colored in vibrantly. A dictionary encourages readers to write down their own meanings of the story, making their book unique in the entire world. It is an invitation to free imagination, playful engagement with language, to spin tales, and to invent texts actively. The actual narrative text is only loosely based on German; many of its words are entirely made up. What do they mean? Why do we still feel that we understand the story despite everything? What do Kunanuckel and Taruppel experience together? And what can we learn from being open, even when we don't understand the words of others?
