Beat Hugi, together with Thomas Aeschbacher (and his father Werner Aeschbacher), revives a unique Swiss cultural history: from the house-and-servants instrument Langnauerli in the Emmental, to the Stöpselbass-Örgeli in Central Switzerland, to the defining folk music instrument Schwyzerörgeli and the rare Halbwiener and Wiener organs. They visit the workshops of the most important organ builders and restorers. They reminisce about the legendary virtuosos of the past and interview contemporary musicians. They perform a traditional gathering. The book includes two exclusive music CDs featuring relevant recordings of current and historical organ music pieces.
