On the hunt for a murderer, it's time once again for the stage to be set for Lady Hardcastle and her loyal maid, Flo Armstrong!

October 1909: Just before Halloween, a film crew visits the small town of Littleton Cotterell to promote their latest film "The Witch's Doom." Originally, the director and actors were supposed to be hosted by Lady Farley-Stroud, but after a fire in her kitchen, Lady Hardcastle steps in to be the hostess. Not all the villagers are thrilled about the idea of a film screening. Superstitious rumors begin to circulate. Nevertheless, the first film night is a resounding success. However, the next morning, one of the actors is found dead under the rowan tree. He has died in a manner similar to his character in the film! Lady Hardcastle's detective skills, along with those of her maid Flo, are put to the test...
